Flexography (often abbreviated to flexo) is a form of printing process that utilizes a flexible relief plate. It is essentially a modern version of letterpress that can be used for printing on almost any type of substrate, including plastic, metallic films, cellophane, and paper. It is widely used for printing on non-porous substrates required for various types of food packaging (it is also well suited for printing large areas of solid colour). The industry-standard thickness of Flexo printing plates is 67 thou. At Label World, we use the NEWER 45 thou printing plates, which give a better and superior quality print on each of our 3 Mark Andy Flexographic presses, seen throughout our range of produced labels.
Label World is proud of our association with Mark Andy printing presses. The quality and stability of our Mark Andy presses have been instrumental in our high quality, reliability, and on-time delivery which we have built up since our formation in May 1998.

The quality of our printing was highlighted in 1999 when we entered the Irish Print Awards for the first time and were delighted to achieve first prize in the label category.
Label World did not enter the competition again until 2013 due to our ever-growing Trade work, when we received an unprecedented 3 nominations and further nominations in 2014, 2016, 2017, and won again in 2019 and in 2022.
